MIN QUALIFICATIONSRN with Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. 4 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse and at least 1 year experience in education/staff development. Job Description: Responsible for the evaluation, development and coordination of educational activities for the assigned clinical area. Develop, monitor staff and evaluate the effectiveness of educational activities to ensure quality care for patients.Salary Range **From $28.19 To $29.00 hourlyThis position is a BAND CODE: NS21Specific Job Related Duties **Demonstrates skill as a clinical practitionerServes as a role model for students in the laboratory settingCollaborates with nursing colleagues and other disciplines in the education setting to provide appropriate learning experiences for studentsFosters an environment that is conducive to learningEffectively uses teaching methodologies in teaching/learning settingsDocuments and assist to evaluates student performance using approved course records and toolsFacilitate integration and application of didactic content and concepts to selected laboratory experiencesFacilitate student integration of nursing theory and the organizing framework of the School of Nursing into clinical practiceFacilitate the application of students current skills and knowledge to new and unfamiliar experiencesFacilitate students learning of clinical decision-making and critical thinking in simulation activitiesGuide students to demonstrate professional behavior at all times. Professional behavior includes accountability for own learning and respect for all individualsImmediately notify the Director of the Nursing Simulation Center of students who are not meeting performance expectations. In collaboration with Director of the Nursing Simulation Center and course coordinator, create a remediation plan for students in danger of failing laboratory and/or simulation activitiesMeet all UTMB compliance-training requirements within posted deadlinesCoordinates equipment, supplies and resources for setup and breakdown of labsAssists with simulations setup, breakdown and running of simulations and necessary equipmentStandard hospital, clinical, laboratory and/or office environmentsModerate to extreme physical effort may be required, such as walking, standing, bending, and lifting materials, equipment, and transferring simulation mannequins from bed to chair and back to bedWork Schedule **This position is working 19 hours or less per week with no benefits.
